This song was written following the death of a family member and naturally, it's themes are those of grief, reflection and nostalgia. Despite these heavy themes, an atmosphere of hope is present as well. The gift of bitter experience gives weight to the old adage "You don't know what you got until it's gone", and implores us to fully appreciate what we have now.
